You have entered Artists-In-Residence, a Web hosting service that offers free personal, business, and organizational Web sites exclusively to those in the Performing Arts, Visual Arts and the Humanities. As part of the free service, each resident receives up to five (5) MB of Web/ftp space, e-mail forwarding, cgi-bin directory for scripts, support for FrontPage as well as several multimedia products, plus numerous other features. Plus, you do not have to put any of those ugly banner ads on your pages like other "free" Web hosting services require! Residents may also offer an image, such as the one to your right, that best represents their sites for display on this home page. These images--which include photos of performances, artworks, or text images of poetry or story excerpts--are shown randomly along with links to their sites. All of the images in the rotation are on display in the Landlady's Gallery

Artists-In-Residence is truly international in its scope. Our artists, musicians, writers, philosophers, dancers, actors, etc. come from countries around the world. They represent: the United States, Great Britain, Indonesia, Italy, Australia, Finland, Thailand, New Zealand, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Sweden, Philippines, Lithuania, South Africa, Belgium, Japan, Norway, Tunisia, Slovenia, Russia, Poland, the Netherlands, Ireland, Mexico, India, Vietnam, Israel, Canada, and Nigeria.

NEWS!! Artists-In-Residence is on the move! Effective Friday, May 10, 2003, the service, which has for over four years provided free Web hosting to those in the Visual and Performing Arts and the Humanities, began a move to a new server. This will present new services to our members.

A lot of reorganization is taking place on the service. We hope to be fully up and running again within the next couple of weeks as residents slowly move into their new spaces. Sorry to make you wait to see and hear some of the most astonishingly creative artists, musicians, actors, dancers, writers, historians, and researchers on the Internet.

Residents whose pages are no longer displaying, please email me as soon as possible to request your new space.

At present, I am not accepting new applications for space on A-I-R. Once current residents are in place, I may open up a limited number of spaces. Please check this site at a later date.

Please do visit the Residents' Web sites. They are listed under Performing Arts and Humanities and Visual Arts Residents' Directories. You may also take advantage of the Search Engine to look for something specific.
